I knew I wanted out of Big Tech - Rikki helped me find the courage (and the salary cut) to do it right

Talia first came to me at a crossroads in her career. Working in Big Tech for years, she had started to feel dissatisfied with her current role, and felt that things were out of alignment with her deep, personal values.

She wasn’t sure how to take action to prepare herself to approach a larger career pivot - from big tech, to something more values-aligned and mission driven.

Together, we found deeper clarity on what she wants from her career, what industries she’s interested in, and how to take action to find something more aligned with her personal values.

“Before working with Rikki, I felt uncertain and at times, ashamed. My biggest concern was how to navigate feeling dissatisfied with my current role and misaligned with my values but not sure what next steps to take to figure out what was next. I knew I did not want to continue doing what I was doing but the prospect of leaving what I had been doing since graduating college felt scary and unapproachable.

After working with Rikki, I feel confident in the types of roles and companies I want to seek out, comfortable staying true to my values within my career path, and with an understanding of what I do and do NOT want to do. The three biggest wins from working together were: identification and clarity of particular industry I want to pursue, comfortability in taking a pay decrease to find a role that aligns with my values, and better techniques for networking and working with recruiters (i.e. follow up).

Since working with Rikki, I now feel confident making a big career pivot that has the potential for a significant salary decrease but knowing I will be doing something that is more aligned with my personal values.

Rikki's superpower is that she is a true partner during the process and excel at making her clients feel heard. She is fantastic at pulling out little things that don't necessarily feel significant but have a big impact on the process.

What was most surprising about doing this work was that it was much more fun than I was anticipating. There were certainly elements of it that were tedious but, largely, it felt exciting and enjoyable. I think that is a testament to her process and the energy that she brings to each session.

I would recommend Rikki to anyone looking to grow in their career, seek clarity on a new career path, or have a partner to learn from on any career related journeys. I would tell them that coaching with you is well worth the investment. The partnership that Rikki provides and depth of expertise she has on such a wide variety of career transitions makes her one of a kind.”
