I don’t hesitate anymore. I’m less afraid of sharing my opinion

Bernice was feeling overly cautious about how to step up and lead. How to advocate for her team, share her opinion and take charge. Through our work together she gained confidence in who she was as a leader, what type of leader she wanted to be and how to be in charge of her own growth

“Before, I hesitated, overthought, I was afraid of being wrong. After working with Rikki, I act as the lead that I am. It’s simply my model of working. I don’t hesitate anymore. I’m less afraid of sharing my opinion. I’m advocating for others, and inviting them into the conversation. I’m able to create more space and take charge.

At first, I was nervous about the homework. But I learned it’s a nice thing being in charge of my own growth. We spent time reflecting, deciding what I needed to work on in each session. It wasn’t always about finding a solution, sometimes it was about identifying the problem.

Now, I’m the one coming up with the tasks, tracking my goals - that’s what I needed. I have a tendency to take on too much, and Rikki would stop me. She’d say, “that is probably enough, or, you’ve given yourself too much” - it was helpful to have her make me pause and reflect, to guide me to decide on what to take on. We had a powerful reflection piece to our work together.

I wanted to work with Rikki because she exemplified the type of leadership style I believe in - the team's success is their success. Rikki is helpful for people in transitions, or in need of clarity. And, if you’re looking to be a leader who wants to have a strong people focus, growing into that - then Rikki is the right person to go to.

This has been great. I will be back.”
